Exfoliation: The AlphaClear solution induces controlled and precise exfoliation of the outermost layers of the skin. The L-Mandelic Acid in the pads break down the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to slough off. This process breaks up the sticky plug/mass that has formed allowing the material to flush out clearing the pores of acne. 

Stimulation of Cell Turnover: The exfoliation triggered by the chemical peel signals the body to increase cell turnover in the epidermis (the top layer of the skin). As a result, newer skin cells are pushed to the surface more rapidly, leading the acne impactions to come out. 

Collagen Production: Alpha Hydroxy Acid stimulates the production of collagen in the skin. Collagen is a crucial protein that provides structural support, firmness, and elasticity to the skin. Increased collagen production helps improve the skin that has been damaged from an acne. 

Regulation of Sebum: While the exact mechanism is not fully understood, mandelic acid has been observed to regulate the production of sebum by interacting with certain enzymes involved in sebum synthesis. This regulation helps to balance the amount of oil produced by the skin, making it beneficial for both oily and combination skin types.

Reduction of Pigmentation: Studies suggest that mandelic acid can inhibit the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color. This can be beneficial for individuals with oily skin who are prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (dark spots) after acne breakouts. By reducing melanin production, mandelic acid can help fade existing dark spots and prevent the formation of new ones.

After a chemical peel, the skin may appear red, flaky, and sensitive. During the recovery period, it's essential to protect the skin from sun exposure and follow post-treatment instructions.

How to add peels into your routine:

If you are just starting the Skin Plus Protocol, you will use the peels every two weeks. 

The night you use the peels you will not do your skin routine, only the peel. The peel will be left on your skin overnight. 

If you have graduated or are mostly clear, you will use the peels once a month to maintain clear skin. If you happen to start breaking out, start using the peels every two weeks to clear up the breakouts, then go back to once a month. 

Wash your skin with the Pro B5 Wash, repeat a second time.  Remove one pad, apply one pad to clean dry skin in circular motions from forehead to neck using medium pressure. Using the same pad apply another layer from forehead to neck again. Tingling or stinging sensation may be expected. Do not rinse or apply any products, let it dry an go to sleep with the solution on overnight. Your skin will feel tight and dry. 

For ultra sensitive skin: Apply and let the peel sit on the skin for one to two minutes, then rinse with the Pro B5 Wash and follow with HylaVera or NourishRX. Increase the exposure time slowly as tolerated. 

Always avoid applying to lips and eye area.
