Salicylic acid is a highly effective ingredient for clearing acne due to its unique properties and mechanisms of action. It works by penetrating the skin and targeting the root causes of acne. 

Here's how salicylic acid helps clear acne:

Exfoliation: Salicylic acid is a type of Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) that is oil-soluble. This means it helps to dissolve the sticky"glue" that holds dead skin cells together, promoting gentle exfoliation and effectively removing the buildup of dead skin cells that can clog pores.

Unclogging Pores: BetaRX helps to dislodge and dissolve the accumulated sebum (oil) and debris that can clog pores. This action helps to prevent the formation of blackheads and whiteheads, which are the precursor to acne breakouts.

How to add peels into your routine:

If you are just starting the Skin Plus Protocol, you will use the peels every two weeks. 

The night you use the peels you will not do your skin routine, only the peel. The peel will be left on your skin overnight. 

If you have graduated or are mostly clear, you will use the peels once a month to maintain clear skin. If you happen to start breaking out, start using the peels every two weeks to clear up the breakouts, then go back to once a month. 

Wash your skin with the Pro B5 Wash, repeat a second time.  Remove one pad, apply one pad to clean dry skin in circular motions from forehead to neck using medium pressure. Using the same pad apply another layer from forehead to neck again. Tingling or stinging sensation may be expected. Do not rinse or apply any products, let it dry an go to sleep with the solution on overnight. Your skin will feel tight and dry. 

For ultra sensitive skin: Apply and let the peel sit on the skin for one to two minutes, then rinse with the Pro B5 Wash and follow with HylaVera or NourishRX. Increase the exposure time slowly as tolerated. 

Always avoid applying to lips and eye area.
